Closest my camera and I came to wildlife this week.
Yeah, there's a zoo up the hill...but I worked 6 days this week and one I took off sick (yes, really, and I'm still in denial). Civil war re-enactments don't actually count either. Frustrating, because, in any usual weekend outing, I take tons of animal photos, especially birds.

I don't expect a great score. I applaud those who recognize the yin yang here. And I thank those who just like it for what it is...

Technical: used aperature priority at 6.7 should of considered putting on the polarizing filter but was worried about sinking deeper in mud. Post process includes levels, clone out annoying "dust" spots on water, crop and sharpen, new idea in border using two selections and varying opacity.

Really a nice photo--I like the diagonal composition. The leaves in the mud are a worthy photo by themsekves. Is that a starfish or something in the water--it's too dark for me to tell. It would have been good to use a reflector here to get rid of the shadow over the water.

Compositionally very nice, with wonderful texture and contrasts to feast the eyes on!

Looks a bit like a dog paw-print! Cheeky entry that would fare well in another challenge. Perhaps too much shadow on the left.

At first glance I was going to say you didn't meet the challenge, but I always look long and hard before I do that. It took a while, but I get it :) very subtle and technically doesn't meet the challenge, but I think it's a valid and very creative interpetation :)

On a side note, it's a wonderfully composed shot... The shadow in the upper left is a little distracting, but some things can't be controlled...

I'm counting this as being inbounds for the footprint. It is a clever take on the challenge.

Almost missed the track underwater. Maybe a different crop or repostioning would make it more prominent.

out of the box thinking but weren't we supposed to photo the animal that made the print?

too bad you couldn't have been there earlier, when the track was being made, or later, when it came back...

as for the image, it looks like it was taken a little late in the day to get good lighting. although your tie to the challenge is the footprint, it doesn't jump right out at you. i would have thought this was an image of leaves. to score well, you really need to meet the challenge dead on.

Some may say this isn't a wildlife shot... where's the animal... I however think this tells it all. I like the contrast of elements on the two sides of the frame. The paw print right on the edge of the water line works well. Excellent shot. -danny

Nice idea - but the connection to wildlife (as defined), if any, is extremely remote. The left 1/5 of the image contains nothing of tonal value.

:) Wildlife without... life. There is something about it.

Subject must be well camoflaged. Don't see any wildlife. Nice photo though.

I think I see an animal track to the left. Interesting take on the challenge.
