While I was taking pictures of the local duck population for this challenge in our stretch of beach of Lake Michigan in Chicago, a chase ensued among members of the colony of seagulls that reside on the beach. Apparently, the lady who feeds them scraps arrived and started throwing bread to the air. The smaller seagull got a big piece of bread and the larger one started to chase it. It then dropped the bread while on air which I was able to capture. It's not a great capture but I just had to enter it.

NeatImage, crop, autocolor, gaussian blur of the background, contrast masking, hue/saturation, contrast, resize and unsharp mask.

Nice sense of action in this. Focus unfortunately on the piece of bread, not the main subject (i.e. birds = juv. blackheaded seagulls?)

Needed a tad more shutter speed.

Cool! Tells the story and is done well... I would have like to see it a bit tighter of a crop, but nice.

A really interesting photograph. I like shots like this. Decent focus on the front gull. Something about the background distracts me. Maybe blur it even more? Crop more of it out? A good shot in what can be very diffilcult conditions to photgoraph with strange lighting, and fast flying birds.

Cool stopped motion shot. The focus seems to be on the belly of the left bird. IMO a little bit deeper DOF and faster shutter speed would have helped.

Good luck on the challenge.

Seagulls can be very tough to shoot. You've captured the action of the moment very well and show the erratic, desperation that usually comes when these birds are looking for food. You've established their environment with the beach and the rocks. The exposure looks a little off as they're normally very bright white birds and here they look a little grey, but being slightly underexposed is better than being overexposed. In an ideal world, unless you were going for artistic impression, both birds being in focus and sharp would have better, but I still believe you have captured the mood of the moment.
