I just found this in your portfolio. What an emotive shot. I love his eyes. They are so telling. Kind of makes you realize how close we really ARE to the primates. Thanks for the smile!

Thanks to all for the comments. And yes the colors are real but I did add a little to the saturation. As a zoo shot I did take this through glass into a natural enclosure. He had wandered up and just sat down in front of me! What luck. I lost some focus due to the glass and had to get rid of some relection. Wish I could have gotten rid of the noise also. Maybe next time. Again, thanks for the comments.

Amazing colors. Makes me wonder if he is really that color. His eyes do show a lot of emotion.

You've done a wonderful job of capturing the expression of the Orangutan. Great catch light in the eyes. The only thing is I think it needs a little more DOF so the entire face is in focus and not just the eyes. Well done. 9

Interesting portrait, but some background would have made it a better fit for the challenge.

I like everything but the eyes. I'm not sure what could be done about the glassy wet eyes, but they seem distracting.

Colors are impressive... bit sad or dreamy green guy...

Very fun expression. It looks a little contrasty and maybe a tad oversharpened or else you just used a fairly high ISO. Having the detail in the skin and fur is good, but it just feels a little harsh or sharp, if you know what I mean. The brightness is good.

A face that only a mother could love... well, not really. Actually he has a funny face and that makes it endearing. My only complaint is the bright highlights from the flash and the slight out of focus area of his mouth. But other than that - perfect crop. Good color. Funny photograph. 8

Interesting subject. Focus could have been a bit sharper but over all thought provoking.

Well done.

Great picture...you can really see the emotion in his/her eyes. Shame that this pic is pretty noisy (digital noise).
