Just to make it clear - I HATE IT!

[Nov. 25th, 2013 02:02:00 PM]

There is NOTHING wonderful about it! But there is only one way to avoid it :(

[Dec. 1st, 2013 05:39:33 PM]

It is a candid shot with my new Sony P&S in a cafe of the National Gallery. She was with her much younger copy, I guess her granddaughter. She looked very classy.

I could not zoom in hence the grainy appearance. I expected a score of 4.6 and no positive comments. DPC is getting weird ;)

Yes, that's right. It was my reaction to jagar's comment - aging is inevitable BUT NEVER wonderful. I hate it!

Thanks for your comment. That was just the second challenge after TPL2 and I had to enter something different. Plus I don't really do portraits so a remote candid is the best I could do ;)

(It's another migraine day, so I'm not thinking too clearly. :)

Lovely. I love the reds jacket and hat. The inability to see every detail made this shot for me.

One of my top picks despite the fact that the thumbnail looks so good. Hahaha... maybe that didn't come out quite right, but I do like the treatment here and she's very classic looking. Ages well. Kudos.

The softness of this portrait works well with the subject. Good luck

I usually hate blurry photos, but it is masterfully applied here to give me the sense of her aging.

I love the blur and grain - captures the mood of aging perfectly.

I normally like portraits to be very sharp, but there is something about this that pulls me in.

Wonderful and inevitable.

Really wanted to score this higher, but felt the blurring effect was slightly overused. For myself, if that was dialed back a bit I could have easily given this a nine or a ten. Instead you get an eight.

This is Lovely, the PP and light, suggest the age, without the harshness of actually showing all the wrinkles .... This is how all my portraits (of me) should be handled!!
