Very sharp. Nice use of DOF.
Could it be improved? I guess yes..
The feathers in his/her neck are a bit blown out...
Nice picture overall. In my top 3!

This is a nice photo, but, the background is too out of focus to appreciate the background.

awesome detail. this is what they're talking about when they say razor-sharp focus. i think i would like it more if it was cropped slightly on the right and opened up a little more on the left--having that eye so close to dead on just takes a little away for me. all the same, this is one of my top picks for the challenge. good luck!

Good close up and nicely sharp. A difficult subject to expose correctly. Looks like you blew out the details in the highlights a little on the right plume and up along the edge of the head. In comparison the eye is a little dark, and as with human portraits a catchlight in the eye can really make the difference too. You've also isolated him from the background well.

Although I'm not sure if the background was blurred in PS, the overall shot is strong. Good sharp capture, the eyes are sharp and powerful. One of my top 10 shots. Good work.

Technically superb! I like the lighting, and tone. Fantastic focus. Rather ugly subject, just my opinion.
