I can see how the title might inspire the shot, but I'm not sure how the novel itself would inspire it. I'm sorry if I'm missing it. Nicely done, though. -6-

oye! what have you done to my dog story?!?!?! For the sheer force and intent of the reptile 4.

given the subject, i think there could have been various other titles that would work well here; primarily anything involving dragons (such as A Dance with Dragons from the Game of Thrones series)
a 6 from me because it's still a good image and does fit the title

Cute.

But totally wrong - why not go with Vonnegut's "Galapagos" or something like that?

Seriously, the book was set in Alaska, and was about dog sled teams and wolves, and men.... This doesn't speak to that.

..

Nice image though. Very well shot and well processed. I'll give you a 4 for sheer image quality.

I think that you adapted the title for this image. It's more of a national geographic type

That's not a dog or a wolf. ???

6...I don't see the reference to the actual /story/novel, more just a title plop. It is a nice picture of a lizard though.

Wasn't that about a dog?

This in a nice enough image of a lizard but I feel there is a bit of a stretch to connect with a book about sled dogs. 4

From wolves in Alaska to the a lizard in the prairie is quite a leap of inspiration. It's a good wildlife shot, technically well exposed and detailed and could merit a 6 or better except for the lack of topicality. 5

I like the detail of the lizard, and I like the background. However other than being a "wild" animal, this has nothing to do with the book. This book title was too easy to play off of and doesn't seem like any thought was put into it other than, "Hey, I will take a picture of a lizard and call it Call of the Wild".

Gave it a 4

The wild looks like a tank with artificial light. I might be wrong. 4

A tame mundane image.5.

Not many of these in the snowy north! A fantastic shot, but it doesn't really tie to the story. Would have scored higher in another challenge. 6

So SHARP! Absolutely love this shot. Really like the tones and blur of the background. Image is crying for a tighter crop - although I know you were restrained with what you could do at the time! Hope it's doing well for you!

Call of the Wild is a hard one, while a good shot of the lizzy, there's nothing for me to connect a reptile with Buck the sled dog in Alaska. The primary theme of the story is of survival and a return to primitivism, I can see somewhat that thought process here, and understand the constraints of coming up with the dog, snow, trappers etc anyway I like the shot regardless.5.

I find the composition low energy with its centered subject cut off in an uninteresting place. You nailed the focus, but to what end? So we can look very closely at his head? What's inside that head? I still don't know. 3

This is a great shot! Love the DOF and the sharpness. Not sure I like the lizard being cut off in this proportion, but, a great shot nonetheless!
