Amazingly faithful to the original in subject, detail, and technique - I love Christophe's comment. Congratulations on the top ten, Alex.
And the fact is, we never "know" for sure what we (being the voters) want until the voting is over LOL Frustrating when the result is disappointing, but equally pleasing when it's unexpectedly better than we dared hope. We get our "fun" in strange ways here :) |

I think yours is better than the original. If the most faithful recreation were the standard, you would have won in a runaway.

Alessandro, thank you so much for your re-creation! It is a great honor that you choose one of my images. The result is stunning, so close to the original: I first thought I entered my old entry by mistake! |

Voted earlier coming back to comment.
A very good redux of the original. Lighting is great. But there is something about the pose that seems forced. Hmmm, I think it is the hand position under the apple. It just seems too stiff. The hand pose on the top is great and more naturally posed -looks like she is casting a hold spell on the apple. My only other critique is that those dropoff areas on the back wall where the spotlight fades to black are a little to hard edge. It only really comes to my attention when looking at Magritte's silhouette in the fact that the top of the head area becomes less defined. Other then that it is a good tribute piece. |

A fun image to pay tribute to. I don't like the cut-out job in the background, (it's too apparent) but mostly this is a good job, highly accurate. |
