Lighting Study and Materials. World Traveler in the 70's. A scene inspired by our grandparents coming back to Greece from Australia with the knowledge of photography & portable light technology of those years.

Three Light Setup: One beauty dish with grid on the right. Two reflector lights with CTO gels on the left; one lighting the scene and one lighting the background, simulating the lamp light.

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 9s - I like it a lot. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. Bold-as-you-like posing.
2. It's superbly lit and exposed.
3. The softness of the artefacts.
4. The oddness of the scene.

I like unusual portraits - and this is a great one.

Flat out fantastic work - I would hang that on my wall. It tells a story, it compels you to question, and it's technically wonderful. I especially like the detail of the bulb in the lampshade.
