In this particular case, I think a deeper DOF to keep all the stones in focus would work better.

nicely unusual - too bad the right side is not focused : wh ydid you leave so much of in in the picture ? the nut and bolt detail really stands out well

I like the photo and especially the earth tones. I wish there was more DOF so the stone face on the right was also in focus.
