Well I'll be danged, still finished on the front page but many people commented about the flower that they feel is too centered and therefore they gave less score for that.
But please do tell how I could have off-centered the flower without cutting of part of the lovely leaves on either the left or the right side. That my friends is quite impossible. Had it been just the flower without any leaves I would have off centered it. This is the way I photographed the image and I left no room for any cropping on either side nor top or bottom as I photographed from very close-up to get maximum detail. That is why I always say...the rules are there to be broken in some cases such as this one. Our minds have unfortunately been conditioned to observe the rules without questioning, not only in photography but also in many other areas of life.

WD on the TT. I know you often don't care for rules and that they should be broken but I felt that it could have done with a slight off centre composition (explanation at end). Still a beautiful image well photographed and PP. Congrats.
For me the central composition works best for florals in portrait orientation. In this challenge the bokeh was the primary theme, and for me an off centre flower had NOTHING to do with rules of thirds and scripted formulae photography but more to do with the fact that the challenge was ABOUT the bokeh. The central composition took away from that theme, the central flower overpowered the bokeh. If this was how you composed the image in camera and it is uncropped then you had little room for crop, but you could have composed the image such that there was more bokeh (ROT) or equal bokeh/equal subject matter. Even if you left the flower central but had more bokeh, the challenge topic, then I would have been less likely to give you the 6 I did, and given you at least a 7, with maybe a bump to 8 as I often do for images I really liked.

Great light, great BG, sharp, even exposure, too central in frame.

It's difficult to not like a good picture of a sunflower.

Well done.

The high level of sharpness against the bokeh is just terrific and gives this a multi dimensional feel. Well done very pretty. Trust this is doing well for you?

The vaguely greenish tinge in the yellow is a bit offputing in this otherwise, beautiful capture
