Hand held camera while tilting horizontally.
converted from RAW played with some HUE there, then add some contrast+dodging.

wait for sunset and hit the shutter :) 1/4sec f~5.6 then tilt horizontally pretty fast...

Love this shot. It is so like sailing off the east coast of the US all night before the sun edges up over the horizon to begin the world all over again. There is no escaping that feeling. bump

Edited to change from "until" to "before" the sun edges up, the point being this glow can only be witnessed when it is below the horizon and there are no distracting lights.
