neat idea!!

a very very good shot despite some technical problems she had with focusing, which resulted in diminished sharpness on the onion.

Very nice thinking... shadows are a bit distracting

interesting cross-section idea: would have liked more definition in the bulb to see 'the rings'. Good effort

Interesting picture, the onion doesn't seem to be as sharp as it should be, that may be because of lighting issues, looking at the background, it goes from a brown to a eggshell white. Would like to know how you did this though, it is a technique that would be interesting to copy.

The idea is very nice. Would have been better without the harsh shadow on the background (putting the object further away from the background helps a lot).

The concept of this image is great for this challenge. The technical quality of the image is not so good. Oversharpening is visible as a halo on the border between the black dirt and light colored background. It is also planly visible on the uncut bulbs as well. It gives the image a digitalization quality that is distracting to the excellent concept.

This was a excellent idea. I think I would have chosen a colored background rather than the stark white. Points for creativity though.

great idea but the shadow cast by the stem is distracting a bit - an all-blue background would have been more dramatic

very cool idea...a bit to blown out lighting wise.

I dont like the shadows, and the quality on the onion and the roots is a bit poor.

Not very appealing shadow behind the stalk. With a little thought this could have been avoided. Nice concept though, needs more 'artistry'.
