COMPOSITION
The placement of the building really sets this up to be a strong picture. It is not in the center, which would make the picture static, but it is not too close to an edge, giving the viewer's eyes room to "roam" through the picture. I like that you have some space in the foreground, and if there had been a really old fence to add interest, that would have been really effective, but I understand you were taking pictures, not building fences. :-) The dark streak in the field also adds to the composition by giving it some "motion."

TECHNIQUE
The focus is very good here, and I love the effect the bw has. The only suggestion I can see to make here is to maybe rotate it left just a hair, as it feels like I am leaning the right looking at it.

OVERALL EFFECT
The first thing I thought of when I saw this was the dustbowl in the midwest. It reminds me of some stories (Steinbeck) and poems I have read from and about that era. Very desolate and stark. This would make an awesome illustration for a book like that. Great work. The more I looked at this, the more I liked it!

You should have placed higher. I think it is an awesome shot!! Cub

Is that just the way the sky is falling off or did you use another technique...and if so what? Nice Photo.

Nice tones and good choice with the B&W. Jacko.

Really nice, especially the choice of B & W. It just seems a bit soft on focus. Good job.

Would a very slight left rotation mess up the angle of the building? If not, I'd like to see the horizon line leveled off a bit. There is a horizontal line in the field, so it makes the tilt look worse than it really is, so I don't really think it's a big deal. I love the use of black and white here. Levels are nice. Focus and clarity are also great. Good luck in the challenge.

This works really well in black and white. Adds to the feeling of desolation .

Love it. Good contrast, the composition is really well done but it appears the horizon is slanted a little, it could be an optical illusion though.

This is a very interesting shot, not scenic mind you but thought provoking. The B&W adds a lot to this feeling. My only suggestion and just my personal preference would be to crop out a bit of weeds on the lower part of the picture. When I look at the picture sometimes the first thing I see is the weeds and not the barn.8.

Reminds me of The Grapes of Wrath. The horizon is almost too centered, but I do like that you chose to put the buildings off to the side. Nice exposure although I'm not sure there's enough contrast to make me want this in B&W rather than color.

This is a nice photo. However I don't like where the horizon line is. I would I preferred to see it either higher to see more of the grass which I think would work better here or lower to show more of the sky if the clowds were more interesting.

i think this would be great if you added some contrast and took away some brightness ... make it more black and whitey 5

A beautiful b&w photo. Gives a sense of peacefulness. I really like how you have captured the the barn/shed in your photo, it adds interest. Overall, an excellent photograph 10 :)
