 Recipe: The secret is to use a good bourbon or rye. Mix 4 parts bourbon with not more than 1 part sweet vermouth and a dash of bitters in a glass or shaker half filled with ice. Remember to stir only (never shake) bourbon or you will kill the flavor. Stir 10-15 seconds and serve in a chilled, preferably frozen glass. Add one maraschino cherry and relax with some good company, food and/or music.
Note: To chill a glass if not already frozen, fill with ice and add water then stir to expedite or allow to sit for a minute or so or until condensation forms on the outside of the glass. Or serve on the rocks for a less robust flavor.

Excellent vintage feel and tones on the liquids-(What strikes me is that there is not enough whiskey out of that bottle to make the drink!)
