I found the old teapot in the woods behind my house, and the flowers are from a shrub in the front yard. Think they're crabapple or some kind of cherry. The bg is a friend's barn. Camera on tripod and I originally created a washout effect by waving a piece of bubblewrap between the lens and pot to add a dreamy diffuse effect.

pp: shot RAW, rotate, crop, brightness/contrast, vibrance /saturation, dodge and burn, watercolour filter, fade filter, resize, sharpen, save for web

This is lovely, Susan. I have to try that bubblewrap thing. I'm always trying to tame the photo out of my photos.

I suppose you used some glow effect, but the whole is quite pleasing.

If a photographer could be somehow reassembled as a painter, this is the kind of photo-realistic painting that might result. In the struggle between the dual nature of this composition, I can't say which is dominating--the photographic nature, or the painterly one. I like the restful tones, the excitement & clarity in the light, the motion blur in the blossoms, the contrasting texture of the old wood. I hope it's hanging on a wall somewhere.

I like how the high key creates and abstract feeling.
