 Not all that complicated an idea. Used an ancient globe from the kids' room (photographed outside so the light would be similar), a mosaic solar garden light, and a picture of the sky.

PP - Converted 3 files from RAW. Superimposed the mosaic on the globe and then cut it apart along some of the grout lines and spread the pieces out. Duped a cloud in a bare spot in the sky (I think I used Pin Light merging, which made it look smaller and darker). Smudged the pieces and clouds separately with a fractal brush at about 60% opacity. Touched up the flattened image where it looked like the pieces should blend in more.
