Shot in JPG. Converted to B&W with Topaz Labs B&W Stylized Painterly, Levels. It's almost guaranteed there will be a massively labour and time intensive production by our Expert Editing wizards. They will no doubt get 8's and 9's and 10's galore.

My entry is a simpler effort, with the thought that light, if barely exposed will fall apart, and realised thus by motion blur. The smiling features of my model show a more light hearted artistic side to the Falling ApART title; Falling Apart with laughter...and the high key portrayal of what should really be a low key underexposed motion blur making it that much more a thinking "man's" photograph. Nothing fits and nor should it. I expect a sub 4.

Perhaps I'll get a Posthumous... ;P

EPR: Thank you for the wonderful comments, even if some of you didn't get it :) As you know by now comments is why I stay connected to DPC.

Sorry to run against your expectations of sub 4. I gave it a 6. More original than most.

What a great image! I love the hi-key and the motion effect but most of all I love the way that motion and effect has given the subject so much character! Almost sinister! Really this is quite spooky to me....as the subject looks like a infamous Australian criminal.....I will tell more after the challenge.

We spend years, as children, learning to see. But sometimes I wonder how I saw things before I learned to see what I expect to see. Maybe it was more expressionistic, maybe I could see blur, I can't remember. By now, I see only what I know is already there & my only hope to see in other ways is the camera. And comps like this. So, thanks.

This does not portray falling apart to me. If you were going for emotion the person looks happy...they don't look like someone who is falling apart.
