Garry makes an excellent point in his comment. Why black and white? On my way home from work the last day of the challenge I stopped for bubblegum with this shot in mind. Like Garry, the image in my head was a classic pink bubble. The store had two brands of pink bubble gum and I bought one of each. I also grabbed a pack of watermelon flavored bubble gum because I knew my daughter liked it -- this pack was intended to be a bribe to get her to model for me. After lots of chewing of each of the pink brands we were getting bubbles only slightly larger than a golf ball. Meanwhile, my model was starting to complain about tired jaw muscles having gnawed her way through several pink wads. We finally gave up on the pink and she popped in some of the watermelon flavored gum. The bubbles were so much better. However, as I went through the shots the greenish bubble was not working for me. Hence the conversion to black and white.

Nice one; the eyes almost match the bubble. (voted earlier)

while it's simple and the contrast and details need some retouching IMO, this is my top pick for the challenge. I like the composition, the expression of the model, and the clear reference to the challenge title. and they eyes make it my only 9 in the challenge.

Nicely done. Love the facial expression. One small point is that the line in the background is slightly distracting. Still one of my favourites from the challenge though.

Nice. Her eyes make it look like it's about to burst; that might have been a great shot too.

Great detail in this. But for some reason the B&W treatment just does not resonate with me. When I think of bubblegum, I think of vibrant, bright colors..not grey. Still, well captured composition~!
