 Two thirds of the Narbonne cathedral were, for several reasons, never built. this "would have been" stain glass window was built in the 14th century and never served as one (and probably never will).

Critique Club Comment :

Composition : Wonderful composition! Very strong lines everywhere... Especially the converging lines that draw my eye up and to the center of the image... Masterful.

Exposure : Just to the left side of the 'window that isn't a window' is just a bit over exposed. Not horribly so, but just a little bit.

Focus / DoF : Fantastic job here. I wish you had included your Shutter / ISO / Aperture information.

Challenge / Interest : I think it was hard for people to make the connection to the challenge here without seeing your explanation in the photographer's comments. I admit that I wouldn't have made the connection myself. This was a hard challenge to interrupt.

My opinion : This is a fascinating shot from a terrific angle. I think the only reason it placed so low was problems relating it to the challenge. I can see now how it relates, but it isn't obvious if you don't know the story behind it.

Very good photo! Wierd, yes, but I was hoping for more out of this world for strange-ness. Focus and lighting very good. 8 Swash

I live about 90 min from the Cathedral in Siena Italy which has an unfinished nave. It is also in the Gothic style. I've only been there three times so I'm not sure if this is same the Cathedral. Either way I like this photo.

This is a nice architectural photo, but for some reason, i don't see the 'stranger in a strange land' concept very well here... are YOU the stranger and this scene is a strange land to you? - setzler

This is a wonderful old building. Where is it. I'd love to see it in person. I'm so glad you did it in color. Awesome photo. Everything is perfect. Yes, I even love the shadows, they add character in my opinion. Looks like this is a building in ruin. I'd give it a 10. PTL
