Spiral staircase at the Nethercutt Museum. Camera handheld, panned and turned to follow the lone climber. Converted using Nik Silver Efex and one of the preset duotones in that software. More of a crop than I usually do.

Sigh. I was kind of excited about this one and... Nothing. No comments, 5.3. Nothing.

Why, please?

Thanks for the comments! I did get a few late in the game.

A busier take. Better? Worse?

Even Miss No Blur (me) gave this a 7. I have no idea what the voters were thinkin'.

This was the one you mentioned wanting feedback on during voting, right? I would have been no help.
I liked this one -- scored it a 7. You eventually got some nice comments -- not sure why it didn't score better.

I'll never understand why this didn't finish on the front page. It's awesome.

Grossly underrated, this shot is really good. Dpc saddens me lately, with my own shots and with amazing shots as this finishing much too low.

Your entry is the better one. Nothing wrong with it, but you know you won't convince the average DPC'er of it's merit. Way too little impact/colour.

I like the opening up of the staircase to the right, and that the body is walking into his own darkness, and that you cropped it into flowing lines, forming a big C.

It seems as if he is walking down, because of the darkness in front of him, and his bowed head.

turn turn turn..... I love windy staircases. Your pedestrian is perfectly placed... this almost reminds me of a spinning teacup!
