Challenge: In The Style Of: jagar (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon MF 28mm f/2.0 AIS
Date: Feb 10, 2013
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 320
Shutter: 1/2500
Date Uploaded: Feb 11, 2013

I think this might be a little too reportage for John's style. jagar has a way of keeping that frame nice and clean but at the same time giving you that slice of humanity that only he can seem to capture. I'm not thinking this will do well; it's way too messy, but street photography is out of my comfort zone so it was fun to at least attempt to mimic his wondrous eye.

Here is one outtake:

Here is the original.

The girl on the left was an accident. The one on the right I knew I wanted in the shot, unfortunately I was not in a position to compose correctly (as far as the top of the frame) in short instance. Oh well.

This is an 8x10 crop, pretty severe (not usually my style). Jagar tends use the whole 4x6 frame effectively, so I also failed there.

This is one of the few challenges where I felt I went out there and gave it a good shot. While I am not a street shooter, I spent 3 hours of shooting time. It felt good to actually spend some time with the camera again (very difficult to do these days). I think having jagar on my team really motivated me, so a big thanks for that.

Doubt it will break 6, but I am happy with the outcome.
Lots of good work in this challenge. Cheers all.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I think my 28mm is officially broken. :(

This should have done much better. I have a feeling some voters didn't take the time to fully take in the picture and see everything. I think the focus on the two in the window combined with the textures and the lack of focus on the pronounced foreground is great. Didn't vote in this challenge but would have got an 8 from me.

One of my top picks. Nice collection of comments and a Posthumous but your score should have been higher.

if someone told me that one of the photos in this challenge is a ringer, I'd pick this one.

I'm hanging this in my fantasy art gallery

Decisive moment reminiscent of Cartier-Bresson... or Jagar. Great pov, comp and tones.

Great find, I went looking for something like this out of quaint windows, but no one on that day would look out of their windows, lol! 7
