I love the processing and colors. Very dreamy... like the childhood memories. Nice composition too. Well deserved blue. Congrats!

Congratulations on the Blue for this lovely shot. 9 from me, pity it didn't quite get 7, but if 5.9xxx is a tiny violin, couldn't 6.9728 be a tiny harp? I didn't actually recognize her head gear as a helmet, I thought it was a cold weather hat.

ETA: I just want return to say I have a lot of respect for your bold choices in processing. I might not have even experimented with this much grain or this color palette, and if I had I likely would have been reluctant to enter for fear it might get hammered in voting. Glad it paid off nicely for you.

Thanks Mark - I must admit I was surprised it did so well as on one of my monitors it looked terribly pixellated in the middle region. I liked the composition of the original photo but without the processing I think it would have been a different kettle of fish.

The experimentation with the colour palettes is always fun due to being colour blind:)

I'm happy to see this one on top of the stack. Congrats on the ribbon for a very engaging image.
It's good to see that people are accepting that technical perfection is more about getting what you want into the image, than about getting every detail sharp and every color creamy smooth.

This is my top pick! It's a pleasure to view a photo of a child being outdoors on what looks like a wintery day, set up or not, so what!

I really hope people disregard this unconventional processing as well, and view it for what it is!

It deserves this well done ;-)

A delightful capture that definitely meets the challenge for me - I like the grain but not so much the tones. Not sure what would have worked better for me. 9 anyway :)

The image works well for the topic and conveys an old but timely "simple pleasure" too, but the pea soup atmosphere dampens the exuberance implied by the title.

Nice, gritty image. Almost like she's flying a kite in a sandstorm!! Fairly certain this image will garner one or more of the alternative awards (posthumous, spurgeon etc)

One of the best shots of the group. You captured the essence of win here, but you also captured the eye of the viewer. I might have gone with a different toning myself, but nothing wrong with the way it is. I like how the trees and fence round on the compositional elements. Hope it does well for you.
