 Three exposure HDR, merged and tone-mapped with Photomatix. The deer was added from a separate photo. Then used Photoshop to give the photo the look of a pastel drawing on rough textured paper. I like this picture because of the contrast of the box-like structured building against the wild, undefined shapes of the orchards apple trees and the trees in the background, as well as the vastness and starkness of the entire landscape. I felt the deer grazing added a small bit of intimacy.

I do like the texture effect - I might have said it has the look of a very fine, old embroidered scene on linen - the tones support that, too. Congratulations on the top ten.

Sometimes adding grain or introducing grain into an image by under/over exposing or in post processing works - this not so much.
