Round and round we go, where we stop, no one knows. That is what happened this month. I have been working on a Milky Way shot that was WAY under exposed. My Longshots teammates all said it was the best of what I showed them. But, I was just not happy with it. I spent HOURS editing and re-edting it until it became the confirmed piece of slop is started out to be. One thing I learned this time around, you can bring out a lot of detail in a RAW file, but there are limits. So, I reviewed all my shots I took in Sept and ended up with what I liked from the very beginning anyway. Even when I took this shot I was in awe again of mother nature. This cloud formation lasted about 3 minutes and it was gone, dissolved into oblivion. After all the hours I spent on editing the other one, this one took about 30 minutes total. Here is my Milky Way shot I spent so long on.

I have many versions of this, but this one seemed to be the best, but it still does not come close to how it should look. I will go again into the dark wilderness in search of the perfect MW shot, until I get what I want. I know exactly where to go too. (-;

Well done Dennis...Always be curious how the other shot would have done compared to this. Still a respectable finish

Bet many people didn't notice the stars... otherwise I couldn't explain such low score for an image like this.

Amazing (and fortunate) cloud formation. Great night shot.
