Thanks a lot everyone.

I found this challenge to be relatively closed to creativity, as all the ideas I found were necessarily putting the zodiac sign a bit out of his usual environment, resulting in an off-topic rendering.

So I went for this Aquarius giant, made of stone. For it to be consistent, I textured it using various photos of the cliffs around the scene. I simply tried to bend the stone to kind of follow the body curves. Then I added some grass and trees on it, to give the impression he's been there for a long time, filling the sea with his amphora. The background is mostly untouched: in particular, the sunset, colors and clouds are those that were there that day. The stars and the nebula were of course added in post-production.

Here is a link to a bigger version: if you would like a particular resolution feel free to contact me in pm.

Hmmmm...my wayward opinion has decided to behave itself today...::beams:: So, I will just say that I love the deep twilight of the beach especially with clouds. Must have been a lovely evening...;-)

nice work, Christophe. I especially like the backlighting on the figure. The only odd thing is a dark shadow on the sea surface to right from the splash

I have to say that in hi-res is MUCH better. It lost a lot of details at 800px.

It's a deliberate choice. I opted for what I found prettier, rather than sticking to cold hard physical realism. It's what I appreciate the most about the expert rules: one can create things the way he likes freely.

We have here here a collage of too many things, each one with a different texture and degree of noise. We even got Etretat's famous rock, reduced to a dainty miniature.

Not hard to guess this is yours since this is Etretat :)

Different than usual and interesting. I have to take a look when I'm fully awake ;)

Damn it this better win! This will def ribbon but it better win. The only aquarius ive seen and I love it(partly because im aquarius) but a lot of technique in this and its seamless. I wish I had a hi res-version of this to make it my desktop background its that good to me!

Def beats the only other aquarius by a mile. Great job.

Oh those little trees! even a distant bird, as though a stone virgin as big as a mountain was an everyday occurrence. And the light is beautifully done.
