I like the framing, done both the tree leaves at the top as well as the road and fence at the bottom. I like the colors, the composition (windmill on the thirds line), the angles, the texture. Great shot! The only distracting thing is the shadows on the left side. Since this is advanced editing, they could have been cloned out. Good luck on the challenge!

P.S. I'm betting on a ribbon here ... or a least top 5.

Breathtaking scale and colors. Beautiful compositional lines and off-centered subject. Very, very nice.

Nicely composed using the old fence and branches to lead to, and frame, your subject.
Good work

If I didn't already want to visit Belgium, this photo would inspire me. One of my ribbon picks this challenge... not only a great travel photo. I like you're leading lines into the windmill, the punchy sky and grass and red barn. The tree framing the windmill adds the perfect accent. BOL

Perfect framing, vibrant colors, a great subject - very nicely done!

Very pleasant uplifting vibe from the shot. Well compsoed and wuite lush, but there is some noticable haloing from shad/hilite filter. Did it really need this? If so a bit more time spent to reduce the effects would have been in order.

Now this scores points just for the windmill I love them
Great colour and placement
Looks like a postcard scene Not sure about the shadow on the left I think I would have cropped closer
Very nice image nice sky

lovely picture :) only thing i may consider is cloning out the shaddow on the dirt road? though thats more a personal feeling

Such beautiful, rich color and excellent composition combine to make this one of the week's best.

Nice shot, makes you feel like you are there.

Windmill shots always do well on postcards and travel guides :)

love the colors, great work. =8

the grass is green, the sky is blue. vivid colors, great capture.

The subtle doubling of the windmill blades(?) in the breaks between the leaves, makes this photo really jump out at me. The fence as well adds to the general pleasure of looking at the scene. Only detraction which I would clone out is the shadow on the road (being real nitpicky, the airplane trail in the sky as well). Both are really minor things, but I think this should do very well in the challenge. Bumping up another point after looking at it for a second time.

The color is stunning!
09/06/2004 10:31:46 AM
Oh, got windmill's in belgium too?
Like your colors better then mine :)
09/06/2004 09:02:21 AM
The colors in this shot are really fantastic. I think the photo might actually look better without those branches at the top, but it still came out really well even with them included. Great job.

Great composition. IMHO, I feel that the greens are a little oversaturated. I like the brightness in the grass but there seems to be a little too much green and yellow for my tastes.
09/06/2004 07:08:09 AM
Beautiful Vlaamse place. The saturated colors of sky and grass works well. Good composition. If there was a bigger red roof of the farm, it could be better, but then your composition should be probably affected.

I like how the leaves in the upper left point to the windmill. Very pleasing image. Shadow on the dirt road could've been cloned out.

Clone out the shadow on the path and I'd give this a 10. It's really bothering me. I like how the natural framing surrounds only the windmill. The colors seem a little too oversaturated. 9
