Went out to meet yo_spiff for the first time. While he was shooting six inches from some other cowboys face I happened to turn around and catch this guy laughing at his partner being photographed. It ended up being a really nice candid smile. Couldn't ask for straighter teeth and a more sincere subject, My favorite part was the fact that his glancing down isolated his mouth and really brought the focus on his smile and not his whole face.

Thanks for all the comments.
-Josh

Well What a surprise to find that I have now been upgraded after the unfortunate DQ of second place. I think it sucks that they don't make exceptions in cases like that. That being said I'm still excited to get my first ribbon even if it was on the heels of a DQ. My thanks go out to all of you who gave me encouraging words both before and after the fact. Hope this is the first of many to come.

-Josh

Now. Well done. :D

Congrats!

Is it only me, or should we not convene a lynchmob committee to review the possible abuse of mystical powers over escapetooz camera's date-stamp?

Oh, and I'm glad I could contribute to your ribbon in some way. I couldn't make your kid smile, though. You'll get my bill shortly.

Congrats on the ribbon!!

I think this is potentially better than the other two. A candid smile like this is difficult!

Great job. Interesting processing, at first I wasn't so keen on it, but it grew on me.

Awww! So glad to see this one with at least an honorable mention. I personally would have easily awarded it a ribbon, but 4th place is good.... very good! Congratulations!

An appealing ad for the hat. And the smile if they are for sale. 7

Coming back to comment now after bumping this up a notch.

What really makes the shot is that brilliant smile shining from under the brim of the cowboy hat. The pose with his arms/hands are wrapped around his chest/belly makes me think he is reacting to something he found very funny which just adds to the mood of the shot. I do have one critique and that is I wish that the lighting was more even. There are blown highlights on the right side of this Vaquero that extends to portions of his sleeves on the folded arms.

He has teeth like "Tiger Woods", oh I love a good set of teeth, and this guy certainly has them.

I love the mystery of this as well, what does he look like under that hat, I love his confident pose also.

Hope it does well for you Josh, obv not voting.
