I started off with a completely different idea than the image I (finally) entered. It unfortunately, because it’s a nice image of a flower, didn’t work because it just wasn’t abstract enough even though I really tried to convince myself that it was ;-) See below:


Then I remembered the plant thingy in a glass vase that my boss’ wife gave me last Christmas and which had these blades of grass sticking out of it.
The kitchen ended up looking as if a bomb had hit it, earth and other parts of the plant all over the floor and my photographic working surface, which was a piece of glass balanced on four plastic beakers to save my back from breaking through bending down too much. I was in the sweaty, swearing phase by that time because I’d already spent about an hour and a half on the other idea.
Did about 50 shots of the grass blades and decided to call it a day because none of the images were turning out the way I’d hoped. Saw that I only had another 2 shots on the card, so I took these 2 as well and checked the lot on my computer.
Well, the second last image was the best of the bunch. Typical! Was I ever pleased that I filled up that card ;-))

I'm so glad you've ribboned!

(But, I have to mumble that it's not one of my favorites of yours... I only gave it a 7. SORRY!

But... I'm not an abstract kinda girl...)

Congrats on the ribbon, Irene. This one and the blue ribbon were my two 10s in this challenge. The abstract forms are perfectly composed and the light and colour are exquisite.

I'm guessing this is not a found image. All the same, it's got quite the interesting comp. The lighting is nice, as it mimics the blades, but not exactly.
