Couldn't find the collective noun for tyres.

Thought i'd give a bit of an explanation of the title. A 'Parliament' is the actual collective bound for rooks (well, one of them) and the is lots of folklore that ties into in. Rooks are sometimes seen together on the ground, in a huddle, and it looks as if they are debating something. Some medieval folklore says they they are debating the souls of the dead. Other folklore says that, after debating, one, or more, rook is then expelled from the group and shunned. This gives it the appearance of a trial.
Anyway, that's what i was going for here. I was reminded of it when i can across the scene. The ordered pile on the left being the parliament with the abandoned and rejected on the right. It wasn't a case of 'Oh, look. Some tyres abandoned in a field. That'll do.'
Anyway, with or without the conceit it is not the type of image that'll do well on DPC. Too bland and uninteresting but for some reason it is this sort of photography i am getting more interested in doing. A kind of straight, documentary approach (with an added conceit or idea attached to, or underlying it). It's an approach i did here...  and  which are two of my favourite DPC photographs of the last year or so. It'll be more mundane from me in the future!

just feels too much like a snapshot.
yes they're abandoned and if they ever caught fire there's a lot of fuel to make it into a big mess, but the focus here seems mroe about the area with some tires than on making the tires the focus. |
