 I think the Wood Duck is my new favourite duck. Challenging, as they have lots of contrast. So lighting and exposure is critical. Plus they seem to be nervous of people. So setting up on a frequently walked trail, was no benefit to me. Although, this day was very quiet for walkers. So as long as my movement was minimal, Wonder Bread would lure them in. Camera was on a tripod and gimbal head.


Like most ducks, they will dry their wings after being wet. So I had a good warning, for a great shot. Intermediate shutter speed, led to some nice blur and sharpness combo. Water spray was a great bonus!

Image was cropped and very little pp applied. I did remove a few distracting water drops and a small blurry blob. Say that five times fast!Intermediate
Framed, this image looks fantastic! Just ask my mom! Nothing beats a nice photo for mothers day. Oh and a hug and kiss!

One of the more interesting duck photos I've seen. Well done. How long did you have to sit there with the camera ready before you caught this?

Fabulous! Not fond of the crop... I don't think the right adds anything... the left is so sharp and amazing!
