Well, the first votes were averaging 6.4--I assumed it would not hold. But the score held solid within +/-0.03 all the way thru 100 votes.
Now, at 120 votes, the average score has jumped to near 6.6. Astonishing! At 6.4iish, this would have landed squarely in the middle of my top ten, but at 6.6ish, this could be top two.
Naturally, I don't expect the 6.6 to hold, when the 6.4 was so strong for so long. but it is still fun, more than usual as this is my first entry in some time.
I don't know what kind of plant this is. While on a photohike in northern NM, I saw these on the way back to the car: inbound, the sun was behind me, and these were almost invisible. On the way out, they were backlit by the setting sun, and they lit up all over the place like miniature fireworks. Impossible to ignore. :-) |
