 Even though it was raining and snowing all day, I took my umbrella and dressed for the occasion and drove to Richard Hahn's Hahn23 neck of the woods. I'm sure he was inside beside a fire with it being so miserable outside. (-; Another spring storm was happening with lots of dense clouds, and I wanted to capture a dramatic scene with clearing clouds, but that never happened. My timing was off just a little bit. It stayed cloudy all day long. So I set up on the shore of Bear Lake and took numerous shots with the fog coming and going. Really thrilled with how this image ended up.

This is a 3 exposure HDR processed in PS CS5 and then tweaked in CEP4. Not sure if Mr. Adams would have bothered with this scene, but it's the best I could produce for the amount of time I had. Reducing to 800 px just destroys the details in this image. Can we change the size to 1000 or 1200?

Really lovely scene. I totally get your comments about the 800 px. It's not optimal for this sort of detailed landscape image.

Congrats Dennis with a great image. Reading your write up I can relate and appreciate that had conditions been better... It could easily have been another story...
But let's not forget... There's no such thing as bad weather.:) Great job and this image unique on its own.

You know how much I like this... and appreciate this image capture in tough conditions. It's easily one of the best Bear Lake images I've ever seen. Masterful, indeed. Congrats on your top 10 finish.

Wonderful view on a rarely becalmed Bear Lake. Love the look into the bottom of the lake. Excellent composition. Sometimes it is a gift to have that Colorado sky muted by overcast. The fog/mist rising off the lake near the far shore is a great element of interest. I truly appreciate how precisely you've levels the lake horizon. (Not that easy!) Superb detail in the rock grain and the forest tree detail. I hope to see this make the top 10. 10
