Now this was a difficult choice to make. Asked for lots of opinions - dead even split between my entry and this:

I really have no idea how this will go, and I'll no doubt have 'entry choice regrets' as soon as this goes into voting!

The white dotty areas are cotton paddocks - it's harvest season where I live. The day this was taken it was horribly overcast and dreary the whole day; I was at work and it was drizzling and I thought I had no chance of getting anything... then the clouds started breaking up late afternoon and I watched it happen for over an hour as I drove all the way home.

I tried the wide angle, tried about 4 or 5 other locations as the sun was going down, nothing was working for me. Then the rays started appearing, but the wide angle wasn't getting close enough. Quick lens change, a bit of zooming (lots of different zooms actually), and this one seemed to come out all right.

Enjoy!

One of my favorite things is seeing sunbursts through clouds! You've captured the beauty of that! Love the contrasts. Well shot.

Lots of drama. Could have used a foreground subject to give it depth.

The clouds on the top portion are a bit heavy for me, and there's a light spot on the upper lefthand corner which bugs me. But besides for that, I like it.
