So I am always in bestbuy and always stop buy to see the nikon d70 and walkout empty handed and I come home today to find a Nikon D70 sitting by my mac. I love this camera so much, so I am thinking hmmm I did not bring the one from work home (I'm not dreaming) then my loving girlfriend calls and ask me if I found anything today. Oh my god I have a Nikon D70 yesssss. Which do I love more my girl and the camera.
I cant stop taking picture for sure now I thought I was bad before, I have a nikon 4300 and I use the Nikon D70 at work but now I dont have to try to take the camera from work home.

Now that is a generous girlfriend. That thing is almost $1300, even on eBay... that's why I don't have one yet. lol

Trust me when I say I know what you mean!!! Mine walked in with the entire money I needed for the cam. I was floooooooored!!!

| I found a web site: Royal Camera.com they have the Nikon d-70 no lens for $689.00, and the D100 for $769.00 Has anyone seen this site? |

Here in Japan i have seen a Nikon D70 for 114,000 yen I think that works out to about $1000. but.... I have only owned my Sony for a few months and to spend out that much on a new camera would be insane. I think with all the new models coming out every month it wont be too long before we can see the Nikon drop to $6-700 and that is with a lens too.
I went with the Sony because I love Carl Zeiss lenses and I have the small compact Contax TVS-D also. but after reading loads of reviews about the Sony I hear that the Carl Zeiss is actually not even made by Zeiss (unlike the contax) and if this is true then i feel quite sad. however the Sony does take wonderful pictures and a photographer as basic as myself I think this is even too good for me. I would love the D70 and I congratulate you and your girlfriend, she is a very considerate and caring person, not because she paid a lot of money but because she knew exactly what you wanted to make you happy, thats a great quality in a person.... well done, you should take her out for a nice romantic meal and take loads of pics..

Most likely not. (C: Of course there would need to be the 18+ disclaimer.
I got my D70 for $985 with lens as an open box (got damn lucky!!) The mirror WAS sticking and was getting ready to send it in, but working fine now. SWEET!!! |

wow so i'm not the only one who's girlfriend bought him the cam :) my girl gave me my d70 a couple weeks ago now. Sounds like they've been chatting or something :) now go out and buy her something nice, and enjoy that camera. it's totally sweet, i'm sure you're gonna love it ;) i'm lovin' it! hehehe :) congrats!

I don't have a girlfriend, but my wife gave me a full green light with a smile (seriously!) to go out and purchase a total set up (D70, lenses, bogen tripod, SB800 speedlight, bags, filters, etc.). All that when she was yearning for landscaping and remodeling, a few weeks after I backed into her truck and needed to replace the bumper on mine (no serious damage to hers).
Now *that's* an amazing wife!!! I get the same look in my eyes when I look at my D70 as she does when she looks at her diamond ring :) |

I called ROYALCAMERA because of what I thought was a good price for the D70. The only thing that you get is the canera body, NOTHING ELSE. No cables, software, straps, nothing. Buyer beware, I finalyy bought it at ritz for $1000.

| not to rain on the party, but you better check it for backfocus. it's estimated that the vast majority of d70 kits have bad backfocus. you'll notice soon if your photos are out of focus. |
