This might be already suggested but I could not find it.
Have a comment notification. Similar to Facebook, (maybe have it next to the "received comments" section. For example have it look like this...
Comments:
Made: 398
Helpful: 332
Received: 388 (1 new comment)
Helpful: 386
Any thoughts?

| I receive an email when someone leaves a new comment that is not in voting. This is effectively the same thing. There is an option to turn it off/on in the preferences. |

| You can set your preference to e-mail you when you get a new comment. |

| I get one too however I don't normally check my email until about 3 am before I head off to bed. |

| I have mine emailed to me. unfortunately my email filters all of them into the spam folder and I sometimes miss them before they get automatically deleted. It would be cool if the comments notifications would go straight into the PM inbox. |

That could work too! Either way I am on this site more times than I am checking my Email... |

| If you mark all your comments as helpful, you can use the comments received count to see if you got any new ones. On your profile page, upper left side, you'll see the totals for comments made, received, helpful, etc. If you click on the blue number for Comments Received, you'll see all the comments folks have given to you, with the most recent as the default for the order. Just scan this listing and you'll see if there are any you haven't seen before by whether or not you've checked the box as "helpful" or not. You can also limit it to only those you have NOT marked as helpful. |

| Good suggestion. My method for seeing new comments is to keep my 'comments received' page open in a browser tab. Then I periodicly check that tab to see if there are any new ones at the top of the list. |

| I do this however I do sometimes comment on my own photo in response to a question or something so my comments/helpful comments are not the same. It gets a bit confusing. I just thought this would be a little easier to see weather you get a new one or not. |

| If I recall correctly, one of the add ons for Firefox built by smurfguy did exactly that though with the new version of the site and/or Firefox it might have been rendered inoperable. |
