Well sort of...it's not rain...it' not sleet...more like little frozen balls/pellets. The temp outside is 33. Been a long time since I've seen this stuff...(in person) It's going to destroy most of the vegetation all around here. Just thought I should let ya'll know. I live in the Northern Orlando area

Snow! :-D Well I'm not really excited about our snow but I could see where folks in your area would be.

I was thinking about you Janine. They say there is a SMALL chance of us getting some flurries tonight... Right now, very chilly and dreary out.

Poor Rick (husband and a mail carrier) is out working in this ....... stuff. It's cold, really, really cold. I'm from the North (MI) but it's not supposed to be like this here!!!

I've been hearing reports of all the orange growers hurrying to protect their crops. We had a white Christmas here in Texas for the first time in decades.

Wow! were on the east coast about 70 miles from Orlando. Only rain here, but we are loosing many of our beautiful tropical trees and plants. :(
But, it would be cool to see and maybe photograph some snow!

I feel for your husband out in this miserable weather. Stay warm!

I think that my job is going to take a big hit, since I work with places that pack vegetables.
On the bright side, I will have more free time to do photography.

Haha, my sister flew to Florida a couple of days ago to go on a cruise. The past 2 days it has been warmer here in Newfoundland than in Florida!!! I'm assuming it will be warmer on her cruise.

Because of being adapted to hot weather, and the dampness, it feels a lot colder here in Florida than it actually is by the thermometer. I lived in Mi for a few months one time, and returned to Florida in Jan. It seemed colder here than it did up there when I got back to Florida.
When it's going to be below 55F I put covers and heat on for all my birds that live in cages outside. When it's going to be 40F or lower, I cover my big stag horn fern, and put a lamp under it with a 100 watt bulb burning to keep it warm.
It's cold and light sprinkle with overcast here right now.

Down here in S FL, we have been having "problems" with wild iguanas (not sure what the big deal is but I guess they have been annoying a lot of people).

Here's an article from the Palm Beach Post.

Here's an orange iguana hanging out in a tree in a local preserve from a few weeks ago:

I just went up to get some groceries. It's funny how some people insist on still wearing shorts & t-shirts, thinking that the rest of us Floridians are weak.

26F here right now. Going down to 10F tonight. I kept talking about moving to Florida next year since I hate the cold so much, but it seems it doesn't much matter! LOL!

LOL It's funny that I see the same thing here (Philly) in mid winter!!! Wishing you and the rest of the Florida DPC'ers all the best in this frigid weather. Especially those whose livelihood depends on agriculture. Waddy MelonMusketeer comes to mind.

Yes, it really sucks

Should be 25F here tonight

It's about 33 here now, with the updated low predicted to be around 23F here in the morning, with the chill factor being about 11F . It's not looking good for the crops at all. If the crops get frozen, there will be work for me with the greenhouse people and at another specialty business that I work with.
