Unfortunately some sea splashes hit my graduated ND filter while shooting a seascape. Can i clone them out in advanced editing?

Clone out incidental power lines, twigs, dust specks, stray hairs, and similar minor imperfections within any capture used.

According to that it seems that the answer is yes, but i would like to be sure.

Many thanks for your answers.

as far as im aware it is exceptable, because it counts as imperfections.

The key words here are "incidental" and "minor". There is no clear line drawn in the sand so it's a judgement call based on how incidental and minor the imperfection is.

Well, obviously they are "incidental", I am not sure where to draw the line about "minor". Please can anyone clarify this matter?
Do you think it is worth to send a ticket to the SC before entering my picture in the challenge?

If you're in that much doubt, send in a ticket. My gut reaction would be that unless the imperfections themselves constitute a major compositional element, you are not going to have a problem.

You're most likely fine, but if you want to sleep easier it's best to send in a ticket.

When I ask myself if I should clone something out or not I always think back to DrAchoo's cookie shot. He cloned out a whole sign from in front of the cookie tray. I cloned out a protruding rock in one of my current entries, and I sleep just fine.

They may have been incidental during the shoot however if there are a lot of them they may not be incidental to the resulting image.

I would send a ticket.

Obviously??? You're asking the question about a picture that I haven't seen so I don't see how they are obviously incidental.

Here are some "sea splashes" in a shot that I took. Before you look at it can you tell me that they are "obviously" incidental.
