v 1.1 available here

Haven't seen a thread yet. Downloaded last night and it is much faster than the old version. I'm far from an expert Topaz user (and just finally paid for the license over the weekend) but results seem the same. From the email announcing the update:

We've had a lot of great feedback about detail enhancement plug-in Topaz Detail. One of the recurring themes was that you loved the effect... but the processing speed was too slow! This update addresses this concern and cuts the time required to pre-process an image on most computers in half. It also addresses some stability and compatibility concerns, and is overall a highly recommended update.

doesn't seem like they will upgrade the previously purchased Detail product to the newest version, will only upgrade to the bundle?

I think you should check on that. I believe it does. I run CS4 in 64 bit and all my Topaz plug-ins work just fine.

Not so. Your license key for the original works with the upgrade. If you're windows, you have to uninstall the original version before installing the new version 1.1, though. The download site also shows win32 and win64 versions available for download, to answer jrtodd's observation.

In their forums people are still having problems as I am, maybe it's just not all that are having issues.

Topaz Detail Still Crashing...

The update version is somewhat faster but still painfully slow. However, the results, if applied judiciously, are remarkable! Some folks have a tendency to overdo the effects and achieve some bizarre looking images, but it is a plugin well worth the price.

Don't pay full price for any Topaz product! Coupon code "plugsnpixels" gets you 15% off.
