Upcoming firmware for 5D Mark II will include 24fps, 25fps video capture options

New firmware for the 5D Mark II, being developed now and scheduled for release in the first half of 2010, will enable the camera to capture video at 24fps or 25fps, in addition to the 30fps it offers currently. Read more...

I know a lot of people want 24fps, but why? I know it will make it seem more like film, but 24fps film is just full of motion artifacts, IMO.

because then you can play it on a dvd player straight away and dont have to go through a down-sampler thing to change the frame rate.

This is a good thing.

Assuming you're talking about Blu-Ray, it can only do 24fps?

the quality difference from the 30fps and the 24fps is amazing.. here's a link to a video showing it.. 30 on the left.. 24 on the right..
