Congrats to all on a great week, especially Paulbtw for his ribbon finishing masterpiece as well as my partner who pulled off an amazing score and 6th place overall for the challenge.

Very pleased with my podium finish! Even more pleased with my qualifying lap for the current round - the way my lap times are at the moment I'll certainly need the bonus!

BaseDrew had better watch out, Dougi555 our number 1 driver will soon perfect his setup!

You may just catch us Paul, I have a decent score but not outstanding. Not sure how Drew is doing. :) Good luck to all.

You are still in front Bass , am glad there are still many laps to go. Need the weather to change

Indridi thanks for all your work! Although my partner got a little too busy to make the first week, we are going to try and make a second half comeback!

I was trying to follow the points and stuff and got confused, but it is true I am a bit slow. :)
My problem came trying to figure out your scoring/rankings. I wondered if you could display more info when show results. Maybe something like this.
Place................score.....bonus...Total(score and bonus)...Points..next week's bonus
Paulbtlw.........7.13.......(0)..............7.13....................................20...........(1.0)
basssman7...6.48.......(.6)............7.08.....................................16............(.7)
GregoryB........6.06.......(.9)............6.96.....................................12............(.6)

This way we can see how the bonus effects the scores and points. Just a thought, but I it took me awhile to figure out why some people were in front of me since I had more points. Thanks for running this tourney. :)

ETA: Is this how the bonus points look for next week? Or do you add the bonus points in?

My apologies to my team, definately wrong tyre choice......! Car has been back to the factory, substantially re-worked, has some new aerodynamic parts and is looking really good in the wind tunnel, we're hopeful.....

My tires appear to do well on long runs, lap times are getting better, but not dramatically.

Your calculations of the bonuses seem correct.

I will sure try to display more info just wish I could use markup to display the results. But I was trying get thins to even out but it was tedious and time consuming. Although I was getting the hang of it by the end. I'll see if I can dsiplay the results more clearly.

Hello Indiri, I believe you have a few scores incorrect. I tried to bold what needs changing. I think you just got some usernames and scores mixed up. Easy to do for sure. I think that is right, I hope I am not annoying you too much. :)

These do not match what I have :(

Even the round one score don't match... believe it's something to do with the distribution of bonuses

Indridi... I'll PM you with what I think the scores and standings should be based on my understanding, and perhaps you can set me straight.

ETA: Nevermind... found what I was doing wrong. Keep up the good work ;)

Apologies, Indridi but you will have to redo your calculations without my score. I have lost my original file and will be Dq'ed shortly for not providing an original.

I am likely way off base here because I do not understand the scoring system properly..but I thought that the points were based on your actual score plus bonus which gives you your "scoring total" that the points were based on. If that is the case then shouldn't the points be starting at 20 at the top of the list shown and work their way down? For example Paul has the 5th highest "scoring total" and yet he gets the most points at 20? How does that work? Please explain.

The scores are correct, and the points columns show the "points" you had prior to this round (16), and the "total" shows it after this round (36)... 16 + 20 = 36. For Paul, he scored 20 in week 1 and his week two score only earned him 8, giving him a total of 28.

I didn't read it as me getting 20 points since I only have 28 overall - the 20 is my running total based on my first place last week. My large qualifying bonus from that race means that my poor score in username gets augmented and that pushes me up to 5th for the username race earning me 8 points, hence my total of 28.

ok, thanks for explaining that. So essentially the column for "points" should be labelled "previous points" and we are missing a column that should be called "points" (or "weekly points"). If that extra column was in there it would be a lot easier to keep track of.

If you look at the way he has the third division totalled it is much easier to understand, although in the third division scores the column for previous points is not shown. ?? 3rd division scoring spreadsheet thread....
