I'm in the same boat this week. One person even said I was "totally, blatantly off the challenge topic." I think my photo speaks volumes about "City Life" to me, but I guess no one else does. heh.

Ahwell.

No I am not a bookie.....though i wish i was

Just stumbled as a newby on this site. Was impressed by many shots, however dissapointed by some, which were also quite off the mark in terms of what photography is meant to deliver.

I think pictures from the Stopped Motion catergory had the best selection.....impact of a waterdrop was creative and novel. "Black and Chrome" was a lso a great shot with really nice lighting highlights.

My favorite shot to come through this site remains "Taking Cover" by Tim Jenson, the winner of the "people" challenge. I think it's a textbook great photo.

I've had the same sort of comment JM. Unfortunately I can't say to much or I will give my shot away. The problem is one of geography. The people in england would probably understand my picture better. Remember we do not have the sprawling metropolises that you do. To be classed as a city in England the City itself must have something very important in its boundaries. Maybe alot of Non-English voters don't realise this.
I will have to take the potential cultural differences into account next time. I fear that at least one other English photographer may be suffering the same problem.

My favorite photo of all challenges so far is a photo that is submitted for this weeks challenge even though I didn't see any city-life in it at all.

BTW Thanks feedback, I'm flattered that you picked my waterdrop-picture as the best :)

Remie, that water drop shot was incredible, as are all of your submissions :)

John, you gave me some very good advice on my submission. I never thought about getting down closer to the ground to get another perspective. I won't say which one is my submission but your advice would have made an okay shot much better. Thanks.

And that's what it's all about, right? Improving with positive feedback. That's what I love about this site.

Some of my absolute favourites:

Upside Down - Child Pose
People - Disappointment
On the Road - Pyxis Anesidorae and Between Rides
Shadows - Asleep

This is really, really hard! If I did this again in a couple of weeks' time I bet my feelings would have changed on some.
