Finally took some time to dig out and edit a couple shots of Deb from our Amsterdam GTG.

Here is one where you can actually recognize her ...

... but mostly what you see is the back of her head as she is shooting like this ...

... and this ... ...

See?

LOL! I just saw this. :-) I do tend to walk around with a camera stuck to my face... I figure that's a familiar pose for a lot of us!

And I'll get out there, Alice... probably sometime this winter, so be prepared!

Please let us all know when you plan that trip. My father in law lives in Oakland, I could piggyback a trip to see him with a trip to meet two of my all time favorite DPC ladies.

LOL Deb looks like you have a *signature* pose happening there...and while doing my zoo shot today I got a pic that I think you'll like, still have to upload it.

Aren't you retiring from the military this year? Where are you going to settle? I sure hope you come through the southwest US at some point :-)

Oh yeah, cuz that's awful close to NM, plus LOTS of cool folks are in TX!

Oh, wouldn't that be fantastic. And if you don't mind pushing a camera or
cat out of the way, you can have what used to be called "the spare bedroom"
and make your base here during your stay.

And BAMartin, if it happened that you are in the neighborhood,
all would be just right in my universe.

I am retiring from the military this year. 1 December 2009. At that point, I'll be both unemployed and homeless, as my house in Texas is rented until May of next year. My current plan, a bit insane though it may be, is to get a motorhome and tour the US (and Canada, perhaps) for awhile. So I might be lots of places!

Wonderful idea! (And Canada for sure). I used to get the itch to do that every spring ... And maybe there will be a Travels with Melethia Herself and Camera book.

Yeah that's it . . just abandon us Europeans . . come over here snaffle our nice coffee and chocolate then wander off home again.

:- P

I think you should do a warm up drive around europe first - it's so small and dainty compared to the whole of the US and Canada. It would be like a trial drive : )

Welllll... you see, when you retire from the military (at least ours) you take all your leave (which you've saved up) at the end. I have over 90 days saved - three months! - so I'll be taking all of that here in Europe. I do plan to wander about a bit, though without the motorhome. Mostly by train, plane, and possibly automobile. By the way, coffee in the UK just doesn't cut it. France, Italy and Germany all have you beat! :-)

Looking to visit the UK for a short bit sometime in July (work related) then possibly again in the fall.

Well I hope you'll let me know if you will be back in Ohio again. We didn't get much of a chance to talk last time and I feel bad about that. Hope to see you some time soon :)

Deb,

Even though your house in TX is rented 'til May, you are always welcome in Frisco (Dallas). I've not only a spare room for whenever you need, but an extended driveway pad you could park the motor home in! Finally someone would come visit TX! :( I've been graced by Rossbilly , Yospiff and Kawesttex and it was wonderful! ( Jutilda and SandyP (as you know) live a bit south, but are always there for moral support, lol! Maybe when you come visit we could actually get a GTG going and whomever wants from wherever could attend! Maybe even do the GTG in Austin. The invite is always there for anyone!

Will you move back into your home in May and stay?

Hey there's lots of parking at my place, sure an RV could fit...and if not then right across the street at the snowmobile clubhouse would work just fine!

Hi Deb. You're always welcome in Washington!

My question is this:

Is it MEL-eth-eeyah or mel-ETH-eeya or mel-eth-EEYah or is the eeya really eye-uh?

Deb, the offer is extended for NJ too. We are evenly situated between NYC and Philadelphia.

Deb isn't allowed to go back to the States until she has made a return trip to Yorkshire!
