If you have not voted today please take time to submit you last vote here.

Good luck and I will announce the winner tomorrow.

The Free Study Marathon (FSM) needs a new logo and I’m not good at designing logos.

This is the current logo. As you can see it needs replacing.

I would like to offer a free one-year membership to the user that designs the winning logo. If you are interested in participating the detail are listed below.

1. Let me know if you would like to participate by posting in this thread.

2. When creating the logo, no matter what the size, it should be viewable when re-sized for web. I would like to have a logo that fall within the following pixel dimensions when re-sized for web. Width 200-400 pixels / Height 50-100 pixels. Thanks!

3. Post your logo in this thread at anytime between February 14 and February 28, 2009.

4. Only one logo per user.

5. You can make changes to your logo or replace your logo at any time during the posting period. (February 14th – February 28th, 2009)

6. On March 1st, 2009 I will put all entries in one post in this thread and give each one a number. I will provide a link in the same post to a form where anyone can vote for his or her favorite logo.

7. When voting please vote only once. More than one vote per Registered User or Member will be voided.

8. The voting period will run from March 1st through March 7th, 2009. Only one vote per user per day please.

9. The logo with the most votes will be announced on March 8th, 2009.

10. I will post the voting results.

11. The winning designer will receive a free one-year DPChallenge.com membership upon emailing me the high-resolution logo and giving me full rights to the logo.

12. A minimum of five logos are required for the contest to continue.

Thanks,
Scott

NOTE: I put this in the General Discussion thread to give everyone the opportunity to participate. SC if this should have been posted in the side challenge thread feel free to move. Thanks.

Used a track shot from my Archive Photo a Week and went with Blue, Red, and Gold because of the ribbon colors.

It won't win, but I was inspired and decided to knock this out today.

Image replaced...

I no longer have a working version of Corel 9, which was the only program I ever learned to do design on. Tried once in Photoshop, but it went horribly wrong.

Good luck to everyone attempting this!

You can borrow mine, if you wanna fly out here :-) Though I guess it would be cheaper to buy a membership for yourself, LOL.

hehe. Well, my membership isn't up until August anyway. If I partook and won, I'd have donated it

That's a good suggestion if anyone would like to participate but does not need a membership. You can donate it to anyone you choose.
Thanks for bringing this up

Yes, but the option to donate is always available to people, and is good to bring up for those that may be thinking, "Well, I have a membership that isn't due for awhile and don't need a free one" and may not have considered donation. It's just another choice.

I don't really need the membership either but here is one:

and it works in b&w too :)

happy to have any comments for improvement or critique... looking to show depth of field while still having it legible.

Here's my first try:

I'm open to improvement suggestions as well.

I like yours a lot, tpbremer, but I'd change a couple of things. First, make the aperture/blades O look more like the DPC logo, and second have the sharpness right down the center.
