I recently sent a portfolio to NYU for film, and part of it included some photography. They are well aware they I have zero training and that I have only had my camera since January. What do you think of some of them? :)

and some drawings:

The drawings are a bit more vibrant in person, but what do you think of these four? There are ten in all. Some others are on my site... :)
Here!

Wow, they must not be too exciting... 32 visits and no one has said a thing.

Nice work. Great composition in the photos. I like the flower the best. And the drawings are very life-like. Very, very nice.

edit: Maybe it should have been posted in another section, ie. Individual Photo Discussion. Maybe that's why no other replies. Who knows?

like the feather best ... the flower is nice, too,
but there is the edge of the table (?) on there on the left,
which i find a bit distracting (especially since it is almost the same color as the flower)

Great detail on the macro shots.
As for the drawings, I'm green with envy. I wish I could draw.

actually, in the flower shot, the bottom half is just a piece of paper, and the top half is a transluscent cutting board. the flower is actually bright yellow, and the whole picture is in sepia tones (from the cameras settings). It looks much better this way. But I have to say, the one I actually sent to NYU was a bit brighter, a tad more contrasted and the background ended up looking like a very cool gradiant. Hard to explain, but yeah, the line is a little harsh, although I still love it. :)
