Mpix - what paper do you use? - DPChallenge Forums

I recently had the pleasure of ordering from Mpix. Great experience and the photos - gorgeous results.
I printed color shots on both the E-surface & Metallic . Black & white on the true B&W paper.

My question - do you ever print a duotone image (just straight b&w - not sepia and the like) on the metallic or e-surface papers?

What are your opinions on the variations - color on either color paper, B&W on any of the three?

I really like the B&W images I have gotten printed on metallic paper from MPIX. Metallic is all I have showing in my studio and they are ALL from MPIX :) I tried another lab and they screwed my order up. :( So, I stick with the folks that don't cost me money. haha!

If I am printing B&W, I only use their metallic or True B&W papers. I did one on E-Surface recently and I will never do it again. It just didn't have the same punch.

The whites look like pearl and the blacks look like onyx on the metallic as well.

They are lovely. Well worth the extra $.

I use Mpix for all my 8x10 pictures and up. I ordered the metallic and really like the effect. They're pretty professional group.

the B&W on esurface loos good and B&W on metallic is really cool looking on the right pictures

I'm going to give b&w on the metallic paper a shot. I think it will give a nice effect.

How does Mpix deliver their prints? Tubes? Heavy cardboard envelopes? How about 16x20 prints, these must be delivered in tubes cuz I can't see them not being damaged if not. I'm ordering my free 16x20 metallic print soon, can't wait to see it on my wall.
