My girlfriend really loves this photo and wants to put it up on her wall. The edited TIFF version was set at 350dpi and 9.6in x 6in (it's a little more than 6in but i forgot the decimal place). My question is how big do you think I can resize it without making it look bad? Also where would be a good place to get it printed?

With that resolution you should be able to print up to 22 x 14" (150dpi) without interpolation. I think Adorama has a sale on 16x20" prints for $4.95 ending today.

I've not been super happy with Adorama's prints in the past, they're hit or miss ... a few were good, while a few weren't ... had to make them re-print twice now ... honestly, I'll be paying a bit more and going to MPIX next time ...

Great...I'll probably get something around the 20"x16" size. The frame is probably going to be the wallet breaker. I'll check out MPIX and Adorama

In the spirit of Christmas.

If you can crop it to a ratio that you like smaller then 19x13 I'll print and send it to you for free, then you can put that money towards framing it for you. If you want to do that send me a PM and I can give you an address to send the file to and I'll print it and ship it out by the weekend.

Agreed. DON'T waste your time or money with AdoramaPix. I've had full-bleed prints come back with big white borders, orders come back with huge variations in exposure, batches that should be back in 3-4 days that took 2 weeks, and, and, and.

Good luck.

I also have the same question, so I'll just add on.

I'm wanting to get some larger prints of my images and I'm wondering who gives the best bang for the buck. This will just be for myself to hang on my wall, so I don't need the most expensive, luxurious print ever, but I want it to look decent.

Also, how can I tell how big I can make the images? My new shots will be 15MP, but I have a lot of shots that I took at 10MP with my PowerShot A640 before I got a 50D.

Costco has a 12x18 size for $3.00 -- if it's proportioned for an 8x10 you can trim it to 12x15, and put some "wallet-sized" prints in the "extra" 3x12 space on the end.

There's not a Costco around here. Also, I'm looking for something a bit bigger.

Costco has bigger (16x20, 20x30), but by mail-order only (all their photos can be ordered by mail if you're a member).

There's always DPC Prints -- our own print service. Base prices are competitive, and the quality should be excellent.
