Hi All

I am after some comments/critique on my website which has been 2 years in the making (with lots of learning along the way!).
It's changed several times since I first decided to create a site, but I think i've finally settled on a design.

Would really appreciate some comments on the useability, general look, layout etc and would be grateful for your time.

Site is //www.blueriverphotography.com

Thanks in advance!

Hi Chris... overall i think it's a nice, clean, simple design.
These were my first impressions as I initially walked through it:

- When the intro page came up, my first inclination was to click on the images. Ofcourse, this did nothing, as I realized it was the intro flash page. Not sure if it's possible, but it would be nice to have those images clickable (when I see something I like... I normally want to go there right away - not search through galleries to hopefully find it).

- inside the galleries - the play buttons are not intuitive. The '+' and '-' buttons would be better as standard forward & reverse, IMO.
Also... it might be an idea to actually have the word "slideshow" next to the play button. I initially thought that was the "next photo" button.

- For some reason, I went to the "Buy Online" section BEFORE I went to the galleries (I don't normally ever do this, but I guess it had something to do with the fact that you asked for site design critique). You may want to put a small blurb on here that buying is achieved via the galleries (and not from that page). My first thought was "why have this page, if you cannot buy anything here?".

- Your links on your "Links" page do not work (therefore, they are not links). Definitely need to make those clickable.

Again, overall - nice clean setup that will likely serve you well with a few fix-ups :O)

BTW - nice pics!

Hope this helps.

Hi Roba

Thank you so much for your comments :)
I'm not sure how easy it would be for me to make the intro photos clickable, but will definitely look into this, it's a great idea.

And I agree that the gallery buttons are not that intuitive, but these are fixed i think as that is the format with slideshowpro and im not sure they can be adjusted :(

Will definitely turn the links into proper links :o)

Thanks again for the comments.
