Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM

Just went to Madrid and Seville for about a week. Loved it there and would definitely return. Some beautiful opportunities for photography. Here's a shot from Madrid:

Let me know what you think, feedback is great. I'm still in the process of doing through and tweaking around some of the shots so feel free to make some suggestions.

I will be looking forward in using my 10-22 wide angle over there :)

BTW, how far is madrid from Barcelona? :D

Barcelona is about 500km east of Madrid. There is a fantastic bullet train that runs between them, so you can make the trip in 2.5 hrs.

Nice perspective on the buildings with the lamp adding to the compo. Lots of great buildings in madrid - did you manage to find the Gaudi-esque building somewhere in the centre down one of the side streets... lots of conche-shaped balconies etc. I wasnt as into my photography when i lived there for a year - but looking back i know what you mean about it being photogenic :)

Even though there's an up angle to your shot, I believe there's a very cool Flamenco guitar shop just up the street on the right side. I have an odd sense for these things but I'm usually correct...I can smell the beautiful Spanish Cypress ...even through a photograph.

I was in Madrid a short while back. Great city...great music...great Tapas (bad food imo, outside of the Tapas)...but great overall.

The guitar in the image was a souvenir I bought for myself while was there. Better than an ashtray, I figured.

Did you have fun? Where did you go? Did you hear any Flamenco? Casa Patas...perhaps???
