It has just gone 1.30 am here in the UK and for the past few hours my Mum and I have been fighting with an unwanted house guest!

Meet 'it'...

'It' hitched a lift in the jaws of one of our cats sometime during the early hours of Sunday morning. The cat likes to bring a mouse into the house every now and then but usually just eats them, this time it looks like the mouse made a run for it!

I first noticed something wasn't quite right in my bedroom about 10pm when I found all 3 cats sat together peering underneath a cabinet next to my desk! After ignoring it for as long as possible I realised there was a good chance there was a mouse under the cabinet :o(

So, I woke my poor Mum up and the next 2 and a half hours saw us turning my room upside down and trying everything we could think of to catch the little #^&% but no matter what we did he was just too quick for us. So, we've given up! Which means I'll be spending the night hoping that 'it' doesn't find a way through the barricade we made!

Anyone got any humane suggestions on how to catch 'it' tomorrow???

Peanut butter and chocolate mashed together on a trap, gets them every time. It's like mouse crack, they can't resist!

I have found that to catch mice, the cheapest and easiest way is to purchase of of those spring loaded traps and use peanut butter for bait.

Simply place the peanut butter on the latch, set the trap, and in the morning you will have to get rid of one dead mouse. Considering that mice usually like to share their accommodations, you may have to do this 10 to 12 times before you get them all.

Good luck and happy hunting.

PS: DO NOT place these traps where the cats can get at them... they truly would not like the experience.

It's so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

chocolate is meant to be something they like to eat, lay that down in a humane trap thingy. Other than that, I would just let the cats do their job.

One of the kittens, has decided that he likes to play with lizards in my house. The other day, I had to get 6 of them out of his mouth, i took pictures of all the tailess lizards that day and posted them on the baseboards in the VAGUE hope that he would play with them and not live ones.

SO as you can SEE< I have NO friggin good ideas!!

Thanks for your help :o)

4 and a half hours after we started trying to catch 'It' I finally made the perfect 'trap' out of a cereal box and a little bit of cheese :o) Sure enough 'It' came rushing out straigh under the box which I quickly threw down and trapped him inside...WOOHOO!

I then slid a piece of plastic very carefully underneath, cellotaped the edges of the box on to the piece of plastic, slowly turned the box the other way up and then rushed outside , in the middle of a storm, and let the little fella go!! I just hope he appreciated all the trouble I went to...I could have just let the cats in to get him!

Cheers to you for catching and releasing him humanely. Unfortunately there's a good likelihood you'll see him again. :)
