I have been asked to do a 150-200 piece, on location, product shoot for someone who deals in custom motorcycle parts, all chrome. Most are small enough to shoot in a light tent so it will be fairly uncomplicated. I have no idea where to begin to give him an estimate. The photos will primarily be shown on his website and several others. Anyone have any suggestions for pricing? |

My way would be to estimate the time required for the travel, the shooting, and the editing. I would then multiply that by USD50 per hour. If this amounts to only a few hours work, I would then add on a fee of USD??? per image. Doing 150-200 shots, editing, and travel seem to suggest that the best way is to charge an hourly rate. |

Have to agree with pineapple here: Hourly fee for photography services (travel, shooting, editing, etc.) plus a usage fee per image.

I recently shot a product shoot for a pizza place...their entire menu (about 40 final shots)...I charged a location fee and then a per image (finals) fee. The per image fee was my calculation included editing and usage.
